I am Mahesa Ferdinan.
My friends call me Hesky.
I’m a New York-based filmmaker and visual artist currently studying at the Kanbar Institute of Film & Television, New York University.
I was born in Bogor, and later raised in the capital of Indonesia, Jakarta.
I aim to bring a cross-cultural lens to my work, blending Southeast Asian sensitivity with the edge of New York cinema.
I frequently draw my work from personal experience and memory.
Film, to me, is less about explaining and more about showing.
I like to believe imagery is one of my primary languages.
